| The Scope of the Journal |
As a publisher The Academy of Business & Retail Management Research (ABRM) has substantial experience of journal publishing and pioneering new journals. |
Our philosophy is to map new frontiers in emerging and developing business areas in research, industry and governance, and to link with centres of excellence world-wide to provide authoritative coverage in specialist fields.
|
Our goal is to foster and promote innovative thinking in business, retail and management fields. We collaborate with numerous field rather than segment into specific areas of research. Hence, our objectives are to build new links, networks and collaborations between the global communities of researchers in order to stimulate and enhance creativity.
|
Our continued success lies in bringing together research dimensions to encourage industry and public sector growth throughout the world. Thus, research on global businesses and international retail management are highly within the areas of our interest. Similarly, expert opinions and professional commentaries are also published in order to set collaborative directions for the future researchers.
|
ABRM therefore prides itself in ensuring the high quality and professional standards expected of its journals by pursuing a full double-blind refereeing process for all articles submitted to it for publication.

Author Agreement: Explanatory Notes
The policy of ABRM is to acquire copyright for all contributions, for the following reasons: |
| |
- Ownership of copyright by a central organisation helps to ensure maximum international protection against infringement;
- Requests for permission to reproduce articles in books, course packs, and electronic reserve or for library loan can be handled efficiently and with sensitivity to changing library and reader needs. This relieves authors of a time-consuming and costly administrative burden;
- The demand for research literature to be delivered in electronic form can be met efficiently, with proper safeguards for authors, editors and journal owners.
|

|
There are opportunities to reach institutions (e.g., companies, schools and public libraries) and individual readers that are unlikely to subscribe to the printed journal. ABRM works with other organisations to publish its journals online, and to deliver copies of individual articles. It has also registered the Journal with the Copyright Licensing Agency, which offers centralised licensing arrangements for digital copying and photocopying around the world. Income received from all of these sources is used to further the interests of the JBRMR.
Once accepted for publication, your Article will be published in the Journal, and will be stored and distributed electronically, in order to meet increasing library and faculty demand, and to deliver it as an individual article copy or as part of a larger collection of articles to meet the specific requirements of a particular market. Assignment of copyright signifies agreement to ABRM making such arrangements.
It may be that the Author is not able to make the assignment solely by him/r herself:
|
| |
-
If it is appropriate, the author's employer may sing this agreement. The employer may reserve the tight to use the Article for internal or promotional purposes (by indicating on this agreement) and reserve all rights other than copyright.
- If the Author is a UK Government employee, the Government will grant a non-exclusive licence to publish the Article in the Journal in any medium or form provided that Crown Copyright and user rights (including patent rights) are reserved.
- If the Author is UK Government employee and the work was done in that capacity, the assignment applies only to the extent allowed by British law.

|
Under the UK's Copyright Design and Patents Act 1988, the Author has the moral right to be identified as the author wherever the Article is published, and to object to its derogatory treatment or distortion. ABRM encourages assertion of this right, as it represents best publishing practice and is an important safeguard for all authors. Clause 4 asserts the Author's moral rights, as required by the Act.
The Journal will permit the Author to use the Article elsewhere after publication, including posting it on the author's personal web pages, in other works or for the purposes of the Author's teaching and research, provided acknowledgement is given to the Journal as the original source of publication.
Thank you for reading these notes. This assignment will enable ABRM to ensure that the Article will reach the optimum readership.
